Frequently Asked Questions

How are your products made?

The team at Classics Explained creates designs based on our episodes. We then supply the designs to print-on-demand dropshipping and fulfilment companies, which take the orders, make the products, and ship them to you.

What is the most common mistake when ordering?

You’d think it would be ordering the wrong size. But in fact, it’s entering an incorrect postal address. Please check that you have the correct address. We can’t stress this enough. If it gets delivered to the address you entered and it’s wrong, we can’t help you.

How long does shipping usually take?

Standard international shipping estimates are currently 5–20* business days (approx. 1–4 weeks), depending on region. Please refer to the shipping methods available for your region listed at checkout.

Express international shipping is available for most regions. If available, this shipping option will be listed at checkout.

Orders will be promptly processed and shipped out within 0-3 business days, excluding weekends and national holidays.

Does my order come with tracking?

Yes, every order is registered with a tracking number. This will be sent via email after your order has been processed.

Functional tracking may be dependent on your country’s postal service.

Why is it taking so long?

Please be patient. Everything is made to order, so it’s not instant. Using the tracking number will keep you informed of the progress. Sending us abusive emails will not speed up the process. It just makes us sad and makes us question our life choices. If it is taking ages, we can reach out to the supplier on your behalf. Please be polite.

Do I need to sign for my package?

The shipping carrier decides whether a package requires a signature upon delivery. Please contact your carrier for more details.

Can I Change/Cancel my order?

We’ll do our best to help you. Once your order has been sent to print-on-demand dropshipping and fulfilment companies, it is really difficult to cancel or change the product. If you do notice an error, please contact us ask@classicsexplained.com, and we’ll see if we can solve it.

If a failed delivery is returned to our warehouse, the order may be re-shipped for a second attempt. If it is your fault, there may be an additional fee. Sometimes, post offices charge a fee to return these parcels; if so, the customer will be responsible for this fee. Re-shipments can only apply to orders already returned to the warehouse.

Do you give discounts on bulk orders?

We have discount codes for a limited time when we release a new episode. If you want to buy a lot, please contact us at ask@classicsexplained.com before you make a purchase, and we’ll assist you. All our profit from the sales goes back into making more episodes, so discounts gives us less to use to make the episodes.

Will there be Customs fees?

There could be depending on where you live and how much your order.  It’s out of our control – your local postal service should be able to supply the information, please check their FAQ page.

I really want you to feature this Composer. How many products do I need to buy to make it happen?

It will be cheaper just to send us money for an episode, and we’ll send you 5 free Classic T-shirts and 5 mugs of your choosing.

Episodes cost around $20,000 to $35,000 USD to make. We have a 20%—30% margin on the products in the store. Using basic math, we calculate that to be the equivalent of ordering 3,500 T-shirts or 4,667 mugs, which is around $66,500 USD—not including postage.

Can I share an idea for a T-shirt or mug based on an episode?

For sure, send it to us. We’ll do our best to make it happen, but no promises. Please note that you are giving us the right to use it by sending it to us. You will be credited in the store and on social media. But we won’t be able to share any profit, as all money made goes back into making more episodes. We thank you in advance.

When will the next episode come out?

Classics Explained is a labour of love. We’re passionate about classical music, and it’s great you’re enthusiastic, too. It takes a while to research and fact-check, considering the story’s visuals and themes. Record the voice-over – mix in the music. Draw the storyboards and edit the animatic. Design the characters and rig them to animate. Create the backgrounds. Cut the scenes, and sync the audio. It takes a team of animators to bring the episodes to life – so around 2 months if all goes smoothly.

My friend likes classical music, but I don’t know who their favorite composer is. What do I do?

Grab a gift voucher and let them choose. Easy.
